About the Artist

Joe Daniel was born on January 28, 1945 in Montgomery, Alabama. Joe began drawing animals in pencil on typing paper when he was only four years old. He began hunting and fishing with his father, Joe R. Daniel Sr., when he was six. His love of, and fascination with, wild life throughout his life has been his source of motivation to paint fish, birds, and other animals.

Artistic Career

Joe began painting with watercolors when he was sixteen. He has entered the Federal Duck Stamp Competition, and received Honorable Mention for a painting of a Native Brown Trout entered in the Wyoming Wild Life Conservation Stamp Contest. He has never had any formal art training. Joe is a self taught artist with a born-in, natural art ability. His art reflects a unique style all its own. He has created watercolor paintings include:

  • Ducks
  • White-tail and Mule Deer
  • Antelope
  • Freshwater and Saltwater Fish
  • Sea Turtles
  • Eagles
  • Osprey
  • Pheasants
  • Grouse
  • Owls
  • Blue Herons
  • Great White Egrets

Beach Art

In 2006, Joe and his wife Alma moved to Surfside Beach, South Carolina. It is there that Joe began painting unique Beach Art using acrylic paints, including:

  • Saltwater Fish
  • Pelicans
  • Blue Crabs
  • Lobster
  • Blue Herons
  • White Egrets
  • Sea Turtles

The colors and detail of his art on wood make his fish look like they might just swim right off the wood!

Charity Work

Joe is a Ducks Unlimited sponsor and provides paintings of ducks to be auctioned off at Ducks Unlimited events in South Carolina. The proceeds go to improving the habitat for ducks in the state.

Art Shows

Joe shows his art work on the lawn in front of Murrell's Inlet Seafood Market in Murrell's Inlet, South Carolina on weekends. Joe makes a commitment to keeping his beautiful art very affordably priced. Paintings start at less than $100 for original watercolors sized 18"x24" (unframed). He also sells his acrylic paintings on wood. Paintings can be mailed anywhere in the country. At special request, paintings can even be mailed internationally (Joe has recently mailed paintings of ducks on wood as far as Italy)!

Special Requests

Joe will accept your special requests for any animal, bird, or fish you would like, to the size you specify! We can promise that you will not purchase a more beautiful piece of original art for the price. Satisfaction is guaranteed, or you can return the painting and your money will be refunded!

Joe is nearly completely computer illiterate, and this web site was created by his loving son, Joe R. Daniel III. Joe III is a football coach who also maintains his own website featuring Football content at GridironChat.com.
